Incoherent ranting in the comments

Good Lord; checked out the blog and it's been hit with more semi-literate threats purporting to be from the creepy guy convicted in connection with the murder of Dorene Raterman.

leve my family a lone they were a victum in this as well ass the raterman family

The above needs a comment. No, your family aren't the victims here. The Ratermans lost their child to a particularly brutal murder. Their family was torn apart. Your family were embarrassed to find out that you, the son of a former sheriff, were involved in that brutal murder of a child.

One of these things is not like the other.

"...A psychologist's report describing Eastman as severely disturbed and a threat to others..." and "...Washington County Circuit Judge Alan revoked Eastman's probation last July after Eastman made threatening phone calls to a woman who assisted in the Raterman murder investigation" (The Bulletin, December 4th, 1991)

And from the AP:

BODY OF MISSING GIRL FOUND OFF LOGGING ROAD
AP , Associated Press
Jul. 25, 1988 9:48 PM ET
ASTORIA, ORE. ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) _ A body found near this coastal town was identified Monday as that of a 15- year-old girl whose disappearance nearly six weeks ago spurred a search of beaches and logging roads by hundreds of volunteers.
Authorities used dental records to identify the remains of Dorene Raterman, said Dr. Larry Lewman, state medical examiner in Portland.
Dorene disappeared June 15 after leaving her parents a note saying she was taking a bicycle ride to Del Ray Beach, a half-mile from her family's home in Gearhart, on the northern Oregon coast, about 75 miles west of Portland.
Within days, state police determined she had been killed at the beach, and two men were arrested in connection with her death.
Her body was found Sunday by motorcyclists riding in a brushy area about 16 miles east of Astoria. An autopy was planned for Tuesday.
The girl's disappearance and the arrests angered some of the 970 residents of Gearhart. One of the suspects wore a bulletproof vest to a court appearance, and a judge held the other's arraignment secretly because he feared for the suspect's safety.
Police got their first break in the case when a man reported seeing a girl on a bicycle and two men in a gold sports car near the beach the night she disappeared. The description of the car led them to Tiac K. Eastman, 25, of Astoria, son of a former county sheriff.
Eastman admitted he and Anthony Mullins, 25, both dishwashers at a nearby hotel, had driven to the beach that night in Eastman's car to drink beer and talk, and saw the girl there, according to a court affidavit.
The affidavit said Eastman told police that Mullins strangled the girl.
Mullins, who denies Eastman's allegation, was charged with kidnapping and murdering the girl. Eastman was charged with hindering prosecution for allegedly driving Mullins from the scene of the slaying. Both are in jail.

some interesting links about the murder of Dorene Raterman

I've realized that despite my google-foo there doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there on the web regarding the murder of Dorene Raterman in 1988. Dorene was only 15 years old when she left a note for her parents saying she was going on a bike ride-- she was never seen alive again.

Dorene's life ended before it really had a chance to begin. She shouldn't be forgotten just because she was murdered prior to easy access to the internet.

Posting these links mostly to keep them handy!
